Hedyeh Elahinia

Hedyeh Elahinia is a resident family physician at the University of Michigan. She received her Master’s degree in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies; her undergraduate thesis focused on Persian narrative retellings of the Quranic story of Joseph. As a medical student, Hedyeh founded and co-edited Lumen Magazine, a medical humanities literary journal, and completed the Medical Student Internship at the Initiative on Islam and Medicine. As a family doctor in training, her clinical interests include full-spectrum Family Medicine across the lifespan and women’s health, including prenatal care and obstetrics.
