Dua Zahra

Dua Zahra is a Master of Theological Studies candidate at Harvard University, focusing on the intersection of Religion, Literature, and Culture in South Asian Shi’ism. Her research explores Shi’i devotional history, with a particular focus on Shi‘i eschatology, mourning rituals, and material spirituality. Her work examines the intersections of devotional literature, hadith traditions, and ritual performance in the South Asian Islamic tradition. She has contributed to research projects on migration in Pakistan, South Asian literary archives, and speculative fiction databases. Dua is also the co-founder of The Azadari Project, a digital archive documenting South Asian mourning practices. Alongside her academic work, as a creative practitioner, she has experience in creative direction with Warner Music South Asia and remains engaged in heritage, theatre, and public humanities initiatives through independent projects.
