Asad Jafri

Asad Jafri is a cultural producer, community organizer and interdisciplinary artist. For over two decades, Asad has connected artists and communities across imagined boundaries to create meaningful engagements and experiences. He is the co-founder of SpaceShift, a collaborative collective of artists and creatives experimenting with the ways in which we work, live, and create, as well as a fellow of Pillars Foundation’s Muslim Narrative Change cohort. He has served as the Curator of Programs at the Shangri La Museum of Islamic Art, Culture & Design, President of Sukoon Creative, Director of Arts & Culture at IMAN in Chicago, and director of Arts Midwest’s CaravanSerai project. His curatorial work, which includes the Salaam Festival, Greenbelt Festival, Listening While Muslim, and a multi-year street art project in Pakistan, has won awards and taken him to communities across five continents, including the UK, Malaysia, Lebanon, Brazil, Kazakhstan and more.
